How much can you afford? I purchase by specs. Buy as much as your budget will allow, then push the limit and buy a little more. Maybe you'll get 3 years out of it.
It's easier to tell you which ones NOT to use: AOL and MSN.
Why? spam, Spam, SPAM! You shouldn't have to spend hours deleting gross emails. Pay for a higher level ISP with spam controls in place.
Do not be discouraged if you use one of these; many people do - as their 2nd email for web surfing and online ordering. So use AOL, MSN, Hotmail, or Yahoo when you need a junk email account. But keep your personal "real" email to yourself and friends/family. Protect it.
If a single click doesn't work, then double click.
For example, don't double click a printer icon. (Guess why...) Because that wacky printer will do exactly what it's told to do and will print twice. I'm here to tell you, it's not the printer's fault.
